ACCNJ Alert

Good Morning {{CFirstName}}:

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority invites you to attend their public forum, referred to as a “public information center,” regarding the $10.7 billion turnpike widening project. The forum will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 6 PM – 9 PM at the East Side High School, 238 Van Buren St., Newark, and is open to the public. There is no need to register.

As you may know, this highly controversial project would widen the 8.1-mile Newark Bay-Hudson County Extension, add shoulders, and replace the Turnpike extension’s elevated structures in three phases, including replacement of the Newark Bay Bridge. Construction of the first phase of the project is slated to begin in 2026 and last 8 – 10 years.

This $10.7 billion project is crucial to the region’s transportation and economic well-being.

Please contact the Association Office with any questions.

Regards,

Abby Adams
