As you know, the ACCNJ Safety Council serves as a networking and information exchange opportunity for members, including Construction Managers, General Contractors, and Subcontractors, as well as OSHA area representatives and the general construction trades’ training directors. Each meeting will contain an educational element and set agenda.
We host quarterly meetings over lunch, with presentations by ACCNJ members, vendors, labor partners and OSHA. The Winter meeting is scheduled for January 10, 2025, at the Association Offices, Edison, NJ, 3rd Floor Conference Room, at 11:30 AM. The cost to attend is $30 per person.
We will welcome Nick (Charles) DePoto, an industry professional with more than 10 years’ experience in natural gas and underground facility locating. Currently, he is the Damage Prevention Supervisor for Elizabethtown Gas. Nick will provide a summary and overview of ‘Call Before You Dig’ 811 laws and requirements for the State of New Jersey. The presentation will cover the 811 process and life cycle of a mark out ticket, as well as how to understand facility marks and colors. Dangers and risks associated with damaging underground natural gas facilities, a review of previous events and lessons learned, excavator requirements, and penalties for failure to adhere to 811 laws will also be reviewed and discussed.
We hope your schedule allows you to join us!
