ACCNJ Sponsors SkillsUSA State Championship

On March 22, 2025, the Associated Construction Contractors of New Jersey (ACCNJ) sponsored the 2025 SkillsUSA State Championship. ACCNJ was proud to witness the talent of the next generation of professionals showcased at the Carpenters Training Center in Edison, New Jersey. Ahead of the Championship, ACCNJ donated $1,500 to the New Jersey SkillsUSA chapter, which has close to 8,000 student members.

In addition to sponsoring the event, ACCNJ had an on-the-ground presence as an exhibitor, educating the participants, their parents and educators about rewarding careers in the union construction industry, as well as upcoming ACCNJ events such as Construction Industry Career Day.

ACCNJ engaged directly with attendees to shed light on the often-overlooked side of the construction industry: management. At the exhibitor table, ACCNJ representatives aimed to help students understand that there is much more to offer in the industry than physical labor – building teams, solving problems, and leading projects to completion are essential skills.

“A well-trained and motivated workforce is necessary for any industry, and SkillsUSA plays a crucial role in honing that talent," said Jack Kocsis, CEO of ACCNJ. "By supporting the SkillsUSA State Championships, we’re not only investing in the next generation of skilled workers, but also ensuring that the construction industry remains strong and innovative for years to come."

ACCNJ has partnered with SkillsUSA for 2 years. As an industry made up of skilled workers, ACCNJ takes great pride in supporting SkillsUSA’s mission to serve high school and college students preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations.
