On March 26, 2026, several New Jersey construction companies were honored at the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA)—one of the industry’s most prestigious recognitions of safety performance.

ACCNJ member Petillo Companies once again secured 1st Place in the Utility Division (over 500,000 working hours), continuing their strong track record of safety excellence. Their recognition highlights an ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards across every project.

In addition, Barr & Barr, Inc. earned 2nd Place in the Construction Management Division (under 300,000 working hours)—an impressive accomplishment that reflects a strong culture of safety and operational excellence.

The CSEA program recognizes construction companies that excel in safety performance, evaluating each candidate’s dedication to safety, occupational health management, and risk control. Participants undergo a rigorous, multi-phase selection process beginning early in the year. Submissions are reviewed by the AGC Safety & Health Committee, with finalists invited to compete in person at the AGC Annual Convention, presenting to a panel of judges.
