SkillsUSA 2026 State Championship
ACCNJ Sponsors 2026 SkillsUSA State Championship For Third Consecutive Year, Supporting New Jersey’s Future Construction Leaders
On March 21, 2026, the Associated Construction Contractors of New Jersey (ACCNJ) sponsored the 2026 SkillsUSA State Championship, held at the Carpenters Training Center in Edison, New Jersey. ACCNJ has proudly partnered with SkillsUSA for three years, underscoring its commitment to preparing the next generation of professionals for careers in the construction trades.
“Supporting SkillsUSA allows us to connect with students and showcase the wide range of career opportunities in construction,” said Shamara Gatling-Davila, Education Manager at ACCNJ. “It’s inspiring to see so many young people demonstrate skill, creativity, and leadership, and we are proud to play a role in helping them explore meaningful careers in the industry.”
In support of SkillsUSA’s mission, ACCNJ donated $1,500 to the New Jersey SkillsUSA chapter, which serves nearly 8,000 student members statewide. This contribution helps ensure students have the resources and opportunities to develop the hands-on skills and leadership abilities that will drive the State’s workforce of tomorrow.
Beyond sponsorship, ACCNJ maintained an on-site presence as an exhibitor, providing students, parents, and educators with insight into rewarding careers in the union construction industry. ACCNJ staff emphasized that the industry offers more than just physical labor, and that essential components of a successful construction career include management, problem-solving, team building, and project leadership. ACCNJ also used the event to promote upcoming initiatives such as Construction Industry Career Day, a hands-on experience where students can explore the many career paths available in the construction trades.
