As you know, the ACCNJ Safety Council serves as a networking and information exchange opportunity for members, including Construction Managers, General Contractors, and Subcontractors, as well as OSHA area representatives and the general construction trades’ training directors. Each meeting will contain an educational element and set agenda. 

We host quarterly meetings over lunch, with presentations by ACCNJ members, vendors, labor partners and OSHA. The next meeting is scheduled for April 10, 2026, at the Association Offices, Edison, NJ, 3rd Floor Conference Room, at 11:30 AM. The cost to attend is $30 per person.

We will have a full agenda: Jeffrey A. Spatz, CSP, Vice President – Safety Services & Advisory Team Leader for the Graham Company, A Marsh McLennan Agency LLC, will lead us in a discussion regarding Crane Operations. When it comes to your crane operations, are you guessing or calculating? Are you hoping or planning? In hoisting operations, wind is an invisible risk where often enough assumptions replace reasoned decisions. And too often, we’re left guessing how wind will act on the hoisted load and relying on “maximum allowable wind speeds” that may not reflect the lift’s real exposure (load size, shape/sail area, rigging, and orientation). Guessing welcomes unacceptable risk. And hoping is not planning. This session using a real-world case study pressure-tests those assumptions and provides attendees tools to make go/no-go decisions that are defensible, repeatable, and aligned with OEM guidance and consensus standards.

In addition, Chris Lalevee, Operating Engineers Local 825, and Roni Barak Ventura, NJIT, will join us to unveil their new collaboration blending industry and innovation to create one-stop resource for mental health and addiction resources.
