ACCNJ January Safety Council Meeting
Friday, January 9, 2026 (11:30 AM - 1:30 PM) (EST)
Description
As you know, the ACCNJ Safety Council serves as a networking and information exchange opportunity for members, including Construction Managers, General Contractors, and Subcontractors, as well as OSHA area representatives and the general construction trades’ training directors. Each meeting will contain an educational element and set agenda.
We host quarterly meetings over lunch, with presentations by ACCNJ members, vendors, labor partners and OSHA. The Winter meeting is scheduled for January 9, 2026, at the Association Offices, Edison, NJ, 3rd Floor Conference Room, at 11:30 AM. The cost to attend is $30 per person.
We will welcome Joe McGettigan, Vice President, Senior Risk Control Consultant for Conner Strong & Buckelew. Joe will address how ergonomics is challenging in the construction industry for many reasons. Lifting, pushing and pulling are the usual suspects causing strain/sprain injuries. Conventional wisdom assumes that there is little that can be done to prevent them, and/or they are too complicated to understand. Neither has to be the case. We will discuss a proven system of lifting mechanics that lowers risk for back injuries in real world situations. We will also discuss some new AI technologies that analyze complicated ergonomic situations to assist in relatively simple, real-world solutions.
Let’s get the new year off to an injury-free start! We look forward to having you join us.
