Description: No matter what your position is at your company, knowing how to read blueprints is a critical skill in construction. It is essential for managing work, specifically managing subcontractors, writing contracts, reviewing scope letters, writing RFI’s, pricing and negotiating change orders, estimating and overall risk management.

Course overview/outline: MEPs Blueprint Reading Workshop

In this workshop, attendees will learn about:

• All the different types of drawings (plan view, elevation view, details, schedules, and isometric)
• Fundamentals and tips in reading MEP drawings
• Where to find MEP work shown on other sets of drawings (Architectural, Structural, Civil, and Landscape) and their impact on MEP scope
• MEP deliverables and milestones for Design-Build drawings (SD, DD, CD, IFC)
• Attendees will also participate in drawing scavenger hunts as practice in locating key elements in mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings.
